Worked with a team to develop a family handbook concept for the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center(CCHMC) Liver Transplant program.
The existing handbook contained critical information for families to reference throughout the pediatric liver transplant process, but the lack of organization and design considerations made the book practically unusable. Our team studied the content in the existing handbook, researched the transplant process, and interviewed the mother of a young patient as a part of our initial user experience research.
We created a multi-section handbook utilizing a color coded folder system, interactive elements, and friendly illustrations that can be used by doctors, parents and children to increase their understanding of the lengthy liver transplant process.
The content is broken down into five key transplant stages. Each stage is color-coded and self-contained for easy reference. Introduction and Additional sections include supplementary information like: charts, a glossary, hospital details, and more.
